Happy Re-Birthday!

On this very special day of our spiritual re-birth, I wish you a very 'Happy Re-birthday' filled with all the love, light, comfort and success you deserve and desire!

I've been doing additional, and longer meditations for the last 2 days. I've received many wonderful new insights...some of which I'm still receiving, so I don’t totally understand them yet.

I am feeling more inner peace and calm, even as I face the remaining challenges brought by 2012.

Frankly, I'm so glad to see 2013 coming in. The numerological energy of 2012, the #5, with all of it's challenging, need to grow, learn and stretch yourself energy, is finally winding down.

The balancing, harmonizing, gentle, loving energy of the #6 is coming in with 2013. THANK GOD for that!

I don’t know about you, but I've got stretch marks all over my body and soul; and I'm ready for a little 'ease and grace'.

So, cheers to 2013 and all that it promises. I’m excited, and ‘insighted’ to see/feel what it brings!

Love and Light to you always…

Remember to Remember Them!

Today, I prayed for the children, teachers, families and friends of those who were lost in last week’s violence. I also prayed for those who were lost in the recent mall shootings, and other violent events. And, I included the children who were hurt in the violent attack in China, the two police officers killed outside a store in the Midwest, and their families too.

I’m still avoiding the media news stories as much as I can, but it’s all over the internet and everywhere else. So, to help contribute something positive into the energies surrounding all of this, I’m praying for the healing and recovery of everyone. It’s my way of processing all that’s happening and addressing how it affects me too.

It’s as though there’s this wave of madness breaking out all over the world…and as my mentor, Dr. Masters has often said…that’s exactly what it is.

In one of his Sunday talks, he tells of Jesus’s encounter with Satan while he was in the wilderness. Satan offered him power and the riches of the world, if he’d join him.

Jesus refused, saying he loved us and didn’t want the power or to dominate us. Satan’s reply was…why not…they’ll be easy to control. Just look at them, they’re all insane!

Of course this is just a very general paraphrasing, but you get the point. I’ve often thought of this particular message when I sought to understand and make sense of the crazy, violent things that happen in our world. And, it makes perfectly good sense…it is insanity in every sense of the word.

I understand very well what the families of these victims are going through. I lost my son, and a sister to gun violence on June 21, 1988 and June 26, 1990, respectively; two years apart, almost to the day. It took over 18 years for me be able to get through June without 2 or more weeks of sadness and crying.

Every incidence of gun violence like we’ve had over the last decade or so, brings it all back in a very personal way. So, I pray…for those lost, and even more for those who are left behind because they are the ones who need our help the most.

There’s a lot of attention focused on them now, but soon the energy and attention will shift and they’ll be left to deal with the ‘aftermath’. That’s when they’ll really need our support and love. It’s the darkest and most difficult time of grieving.

So, I ask you to do something in your own way to remember them…for a long time. As you pray now, include a general prayer request in your prayers.

You can simply say, Spirit I send love, light, comfort and healing energy to all those I’ve prayed for in the past who still need your help to heal, recover and move through their losses, health challenges, fear and painful experiences.

I pray for lots of people, but sometimes the names are forgotten over time; or the list gets too long. For me, this felt like an effective way to still support anyone who may still be in need and struggling to heal.

People heal at different rates and sometimes there are setbacks or additional events. This general request provides spiritual support where needed, as long as it’s needed.

I ask you to join me in doing this general request for continual spiritual support as we move forward and lose sight of those who will be in need of love and comfort for a long time.

We are all one! And, by remembering and honoring the many, we also remember and honor ourselves. We all need prayer, comfort and support every day of our lives. This is one way to give our continuous support, even as life goes on.

Love and Light to you always…

A word of perspective on recent events and December 12th & 21st

A word of perspective on recent events, and those that are yet to come as we ascend with Mother Earth, co-create and embrace our new lives:

I stopped watching the news reports after the 5pm news broadcast that day. I usually watch ABC Evening News with Diane Sawyer, but when they announced a special 1 hour edition, I decided then and there...no more news shows for several days...to let the furor die down.

I don’t want that energy in my consciousness, especially now; and you should be diligent and protect your consciousness too. We’re in a very powerful creative mode. That’s what all of the 12/12 and 12/21 talk is about.

I wish the media wouldn't give so much attention to these events. It's so incendiary. It encourages the mentally ill, weak-minded and unconscious to do things that will get them on tv, no matter what the cost, or how much damage they do in the process.

However, I also know that the energy behind these behaviors is that of Darkness. It is its last ditch effort to survive by creating fear and inflicting pain and suffering as we ascend into the Light.

Fear and suffering are the sustenance of Darkness, and as we buy into it, we feed that dark energy. This gives it power; at least for a little while.

But, there’s so much Light being sent to us now, and so much that’s already here, that it doesn’t really matter what the Darkness does now. We are ascending with Mother Earth.

We are co-creating a new world, along with Creator, Spirit and Mother Earth. We’re giving birth to something entirely new. What do you want to that be…look like…feel like? Set your attention there!

It’s like a new baby. Birth is a messy, intense and even risky process. But, it’s also a wonderful experience of love, once the new life emerges.

We’re now in the ‘labor’ stage. 12/12 has already passed. It was our turning onto the walkway as we approach the door.

On 12/21 we will walk through the door and leave all that isn’t of the Light behind. It’s not that all will be perfect overnight, but it will be phenomenal just the same.

I view it like moving into a new home. You move in, and once all your things are unloaded, you shut the door and your new life begins. There’s the unpacking, arranging, finding your way around your new surroundings…getting used to its energy and adjusting to your new life.

While the transition is in process many things will happen. Some of it will be challenging, but more of it will be enlightening and inspiring. Some changes will be subtle, while others will be profound.

All of us will experience it in our own ways; according to our sensitivity, perspectives and levels of awareness. This is a very auspicious time for Earth and for all of her life forms.

Stay focused on the energies of Light, Love, Balance, Order, Security, Comfort and Power…give your energy to that which you want to happen; despite appearances and what you see around you…give your attention to the Light!

In the next weeks and months, we may find ourselves processing through more disturbing events. Keep them in perspective. Use your ‘MAP’ tools (meditation, affirmation and prayer) as often as necessary to stay centered and comfortable.

Ask your angels and guides for guidance, protection, clarity and assistance where and when you need it. They are here for us and are available 24/7, but you must ask. Asking is simple.

If you don’t know a particular angel or guide’s name, just ask for assistance from the angels and guides of the Light, Love, of higher realms, of heaven and those who serve Spirit, and they will come.

Remember to support this transitional process with your love, light and courage. Light always dispels darkness. So, turn on your light, and let it shine brightly…and all will be well!

Love and Light to you always…

Law of Attraction: Why Doesn't It Work for Me?

There are a great many examples and displays of the Law of Attraction and how it works all around us. There are also lots of writings, perspectives and explanations of its power; and all are very enlightening. But, many are lacking substance and useful information.

In my heart I can't help feeling a bit disappointed that the world we live in has mis-lead and brainwashed us so badly that our experience of the Law has been distorted at best, and in too many instances…damaging.

For many people, the mis-use of the Law of Attraction has created more painful experiences than pleasant ones. These painful experiences have created emotional blocks and scars that have compromised our joy, love, success and even our health. As a result, we have to overcome many issues, and are required to re-train our minds in order to make this ‘natural process’ work for us.

Most of us feel like the Law of Attraction is working us, instead of us working the Law. And, there’s some truth to this belief. It seems so unfair, because this Law, this Divine Energy was designed to be our benefactor and the creative medium we were to use to create the lives of our dreams.

But, rather than go into all of the reasons why we’ve come to this place of ignorance and confusion about the Law of Attraction, I’ll use this time to talk about how we can correct our beliefs and behaviors, so we can begin to experience the wonderful things the Law can bring to us.

There are many ‘Laws’ of the Universe. There’s the ‘Law of Belief’: it is done unto you as you believe. There’s the ‘Law of Gravity’: it’s what makes this physical Universe possible; it’s what holds everything together, and us to the Earth.

And, there’s the ‘Law of Attraction’, which is more commonly interpreted as you ‘reap what you sow’; simply put, that’s exactly what it is. You receive the energy equivalent of what you put out. And, like the other Laws, it works whether you know it exists or not; whether you believe it works or not; and whether or not you consciously work with it.

The Law of Gravity is based on the power of magnetism. It always ensures that everything physical will be drawn to the center of gravity of the largest celestial body around or near it. This is a very simplistic explanation that suffices for this conversation.

The Law of Attraction is based on energetic/emotional vibrations. Here on Earth, we are the emotional vibration centers. Therefore, the Law will draw to us, our emotional vibrational equivalent.

All emotions have vibrational frequencies. You can feel the energies of love, joy, fear and hate. Love and joy make us feel good; fear and hate do not. For us it means that what we feel, determines what comes to us. In order for the Law of Attraction to work for us and attract the things we want, we have to be emoting at certain vibrational frequencies…consistently.

And, therein lies the problem. Most of us are not in control of our emotions. Very often we’re expressing them dysfunctionally, and at other times, we’re in the ‘negative zone’. As a result, we create more of what we don’t want, than what we want.

For example, many of us are filled with fear, worry, stress, anger, resentment and depression. These are very low frequency emotions that restrict the ability of the Law of Attraction to bring the good things we want in life to us. These energies are incompatible with the positive energies of abundance, prosperity, love, joy and success.

It’s like the energy fields of a magnet; one end is positively charged and the other end is negatively charged. When the compatible energy ends of two magnets face each other, they are drawn together. When the opposing energy ends face each other, the magnets are pushed apart.

Our emotions work the same way. So, in order for us to use the Law of Attraction correctly, we have to get our emotions vibrating at a level that attracts what we want, instead of repelling it. It’s a principle of the Universe that incompatible energies can’t come together.

As simple as the concept of the Law of Attraction is, there are many complexities underlying how we interact with it. Our experiences, beliefs, programming (by parental and societal training and behaviors), all affect our ability to work with the Law.

Our experiences and belief systems are usually set during our childhood. We are deeply imprinted by what we see, feel and hear from our parents, teachers, and surroundings early on. Let’s talk about that for a minute.

If you grew up in a home where your parents struggled with money and never seemed to have enough; maybe even fought a lot about the lack and limitations the were experiencing, you probably have a lack and limitation mindset that’s deeply rooted in your subconscious mind.

Without knowing it, you continue to create the lack and limitation conditions that you learned in your childhood. Those deep seated, unconscious belief systems will require clearing in order for you to turn things around. But, don’t worry…it can be cleared.

Conversely, if you grew up in a home where there was abundance and prosperity, and your parents were loving and respectful of each other and their children, you probably have an unconscious ability to make the Law of Abundance work for you. You simply do it without thinking about it.

Another channel for negative programming may come from our religious training, or lack thereof. Perhaps you were told that money was evil, or that rich people were materialistic and selfish. That they took advantage of others and couldn’t be trusted.

You may have been taught that having money would ruin you, or that you’d be corrupted if you ever became successful and wealthy. Maybe you were taught that money wasn’t spiritual and that only poor people would be worthy of going to heaven.

But, none of that is true. And yet, you were programmed to live a life of lack and limitation, fear and insecurity and confusion. As a result, no amount of positive thinking is going to make the Law of Attraction work for you until you clear and reframe your beliefs. Then and only then, will you be able to work the Law of Attraction as it was designed and intended.

The bottom line is this. You CAN change your beliefs, learn to use the Law of Attraction correctly, and create the life you’ve always wanted. There are practices, techniques and healing modalities available to make this transformation happen.

All you have to do is decide you want to live a life of abundance, joy and love, and then take action to make it happen. Your life won’t transform overnight, but once you start the journey, you will see results…and fairly quickly.

So…it’s all up to you! You can live in denial and limitation and tell yourself there’s nothing you can do about it, or you can take control of your life and make the Law work for you. Make that choice today…and start living the life of your dreams.

Love and Light to you always…♥

Women, PTSD and Alternative Healing

An associate is writing a piece on the connection and impacts of PTSD on the recovery of brain injury victims. She asked those of us who’ve dealt with it for comments. As I wrote my response, I realized that this information could be important to others in many ways.

I don't have a brain injury, but I've been dealing with PTSD for about 7 years now as a result of several years of emotional and mental abuse in a marriage. It was compounded when he and my youngest, and last surviving sister both passed within 6 months of each other. Shortly after, I lost my career, and soon ran out of money, all of this happened within a year (2005-2006).

When my symptoms first appeared in late 2004, I began to realize I hadn't healed from other loses either. My son was murdered in 1988, and my second oldest sister was murdered in 1990, both victims of violence. My mom and my oldest sister passed between 1995 and 1987, respectively.

I tried traditional treatments but they didn't help much. So I turned to alternative healing. I became a Reiki Master and Tapping practitioner and used these energy healing modalities to heal myself and understand how and why it happened to me.

I used to think PTSD was a result of war trauma. Now I know that's not always the case. During my research I found statistics saying approx 30% of women suffer from mild to severe PTSD as a result of loss and abuse.

Mine was pretty bad for a long time. I'm still healing, but I'm much better now. Far too often traditional treatments like therapy and medications don't address the energetic and spiritual injuries at the root of PTSD.

We know physical abuse is bad because it leaves scars. However, emotional and mental abuse leave no visible scars because they happen at the soul level. We also don’t realize that along with emotional and mental abuse, there’s usually a sexual abuse component. That can be mild to severe in its own right.

Unless you’ve experienced it yourself, you don’t realize how incredibly damaging any kind of abuse can be. But, once the deep soul-level issues are healed, the trauma heals too.

Unfortunately, our society doesn't recognize the real impact of abuse unless it's physical, so the injuries go unnoticed and sufferers are expected and told to 'just get over it and move on'. But, it’s not that simple.

This ‘advice’, though well-intended only makes things worse because it makes the person feel there’s something ‘wrong or broken’ in them because they can’t just get over it and move on. Now their already damaged self-esteem bottoms.

Feelings of helplessness, unworthiness and rejection set in and become impacted in the psyche. The trauma deepens and they sink into despair. This is when substance abuse and thoughts of suicide begin. I know…I’ve been there.

Medications often make things worse because it becomes the lifeline for the sufferer. They can't function without it. Medications are like band-aids on bullet wounds. Healing the real trauma that resides in the 'energy and spiritual body' is the real key to recovery.

The 10 Commandments of Facebook Fan Pages

Do you have a Facebook Fan Page? If you do, are you aware that there are some 'specific rules' you must follow, otherwise you run the risk of the Facebook Police shutting down your fan page...without warning!

It happens all the time, and you'll never get any advance warning. One day you'll just go to your page and it won't be there.

What if your clients go looking for your page and it's not there? They'll probably assume you closed it down and are no longer in business, while this could be far from the truth.

If you don't have a big following, or are just starting out, this may not be a big deal. You just start over. But...if you have a large following and your business depends on your fan page to thrive...it could be catastrophic!

So, take a look at the list below and see if you're in compliance. If you aren't, take steps to make the necessary changes before you get 'busted'...

Here’s what you need to know…

The Ten Commandments of Facebook Fan Pages

  1. Thou shall not have pricing information in your cover
      photo.
  1. Thou shall not have purchase information in your
      cover photo.
  1. Thou shall not have discount or coupon information in
      your cover photo.
  1. Thou shall not have any ‘call to action’ (i.e. Get It
Now’, Tell Your Friends, Join Our Club, etc)
      information in your cover photo.
  1. Thou shall not have any contact information in your
      cover photo.
  1. Thou shall not put any references to Facebook
features i.e. ‘Like My Page’ or ‘Share’ in your cover
      photo.
  1. Thou shall not have any false representations in your
      cover photo.
  1. Thou shall not have any deceptive or misleading
      information in your cover photo.
  1. Thou shall not use any copyrighted photos or
graphics in your cover photo unless you hold the
      copyright.
  1. Thou shall not infringe on any third parties’ intellectual
      property in your photo.

Violate any of these rules (among others) and you run the
risk of Facebook shutting your Fan Page down without
warning.

If you don’t have a page, or you have a casual following, that
may not be a big deal to you.

But, if your Fan Page is business critical, you could lose
$1000s…maybe even the business itself.

I know what the rules are, and I can help you prevent a
disaster.

On the other hand, if you don’t have a Fan Page…you
should create one, or have us create it for you.

No matter how big or how small your business or cause is,
you should have a Facebook Fan Page, create and use your
vanity name, and invite people to ‘Like’ your page.

It helps establish your credibility and presence on the web,
especially if you don’t have a website!

Need some help sorting things out, let me know.

If don’t have a fan page but would like to have
one, send me a message. I can set it up for you.

5 Steps to Start a Business on Shoestring!

I wish I could say you can start a business with no money, but the truth is you can’t. You’ll need some money, but it doesn’t have to be a lot if you leverage the assets you have. If you plan and budget properly, you can still start your business now.

Fortunately, there are a lot of free or low-cost resources available to the new entrepreneur. High unemployment and a bleak job outlook have caused many people to look for alternatives to finding a new job. This also means the need to start a business on a small budget is great. The result is an environment that supports and serves this ‘start a business on a shoestring’ mindset. Hence, the reason for writing this book.

I am one of those ‘business on a shoestring’ entrepreneurs. This book contains the tips and shortcuts I used to start my business while on unemployment. I’ve found many online companies and resources that offer low-cost or free services that help you create a business with very little money, if you’re willing to commit to the effort. I won’t tell you it’s going to be easy, it won’t. But, if you’re willing to trade sweat equity and self-education for the convenience of hiring or outsourcing certain tasks, you can do it. And, the experience will be priceless.

1. Evaluate your current skills set and assets

Make a list of the skills you have. Then, decide which of them can be marketed to other businesses or people so you can start earning money as soon as possible.

Research your business options. Online businesses are the best way. Look into freelance consulting. Art, writing and customer services may be for good starters. Sites like elance.com are good for writer’s gigs, and Monster.com and Craigslist offer ads for consultants. EzineArticles.com and SelfGrowth.com are good sites to publish your original articles for exposure and building your mailing list.

If you have or can buy the proper office equipment and software, and you have good office and/or bookkeeping skills, becoming a virtual assistant could work well for you. Contact former bosses and former co-workers for referrals to people they know who may be interested in your services.

Ask yourself these questions:

Can you create your own blog or website?

Can you write your own articles and ebooks?

Is there a market for consultants in your previous field of employment?

Do you have administrative skills that you can provide to others as a virtual assistant?

Do you have expertise in a certain subject that’s in demand today?

What kind of office/computer equipment do you already have to create a home office?

What kind of personal/business network do you have, i.e. Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn? Are you proficient in using them?

Tip: Don’t say anything about your business plans to your current boss or co-workers unless you’re going to be partners in your new business. If you do, it will come back to bite you…I guarantee it!

2. How much of your income/savings can you comfortably invest in your new business

I say ‘comfortably’ because the last thing you need to do is create more stress in your life by putting too much money in your business and not being able to pay your bills. You’ll need a small amount of money each month for things like webhosting, buying cheap services, buying supplies, etc. Maybe you can trade skills with someone you know to get certain services done for you for free.

If you’re still working, or are newly unemployed, I highly recommend starting your business as soon as possible while you still have cash flow. Don’t wait until your money’s running low, or your unemployment benefits are about to expire to get started. It may take a few months before you’re making enough money to live on. And, you can do a lot more and grow your business much faster when you still have an income other than your new business.

3. Find free and low-cost resources on the internet

One of my favorite sites is: www.fivver.com. It’s a place where you can find every kind of service (called gigs) from the normal to the outrageous…for only $5! There are literally 1000s of people offering to do almost everything you can imagine, as long as it’s not porn or illegal. You can spend hours just browsing the site.

As with anything, some of the providers are better than others. You can click on a gig and read the referrals to get an idea of how they work. If it’s a new vendor, you can email them to ask questions or request samples of their work before you buy. And, if you’re not satisfied with their work, you can cancel your order.

You can also sell your services on the site as long as you’re willing to do it for $5. The site keeps $1 of each gig, so your profit will be $4 per gig. I bought a logo, book cover, video testimonial and some great promotional connections on Fivver. I also have several gigs registered, 3 for business and 1 for fun…doing dream interpretations! Wouldn’t you know the dream interpretation is the one that pulled the first sale! One warning though, be careful…it can be addicting…like chocolate!

You’ll also find other no or low-cost products and resources by searching the internet. I have several recommendations for products and services that I or someone I know has used available on my website: www.thewomanexec.com.

4. Use Facebook, Twitter, and other networking sites to promote your business

If you’re proficient with Facebook and Twitter, use them for promoting your business. If you already have established networks on sites like LinkedIn or Ning, let your connections know what you’re doing. They can be invaluable referral and support systems that can greatly accelerate your success. These are established relationships can be connections to other entrepreneurs and professionals who may do business with you because you have friends in common. Depending on what your business is, you may be able to exchange services to get what you need.

Look into using Facebook ads to promote your business. It’s probably the best bang for your advertising buck. Use Craigslist and other free ad sites to market your business as well. Don’t forget flyers and business cards. They still work to keep your business in the public eye.

5. Use the Google Adwords Tool to find a topic for your ebook and products

If you’re a writer, don’t start writing before you check your topic on Google. It helps you determine what the current hot topics are. Very often we want to write about what we love, and that’s ok. But, if your passion project is basket weaving, and you want to make money, it might be a better idea to choose another subject. I’m not saying don’t write the basket weaving ebook, just plan to write another one for profit.

Use the Google Adwords Tool. It can be found at: Google Adwords Tool. Click on the ‘Get keyword ideas’ link at the bottom of the page. Enter your subject phrases in the search box, and type in the green pass code below it. When you hit enter, you’ll get a list of topics with statistics on how many searches come in for the phrase and variations of the phrase. Find the topic that gets the largest number of searches, then choose a variation of that topic that has a smaller number of searches. Choosing one whose search counts are somewhere in the middle, but still within the topic will give you a better chance at getting on page 1 or 2 of the search results.

For instance, my topic ‘start a business’ has over 800,000 searches, but ‘steps to start a business’ only has 9900. This means instead of competing with over 800,000 other references with ‘start a business’ as my topic, I’ll only have 9900 competitors by using ‘steps to start a business’ as my topic. This gives me a much tighter target audience, and 9900 is large enough market to give me good sales. I’ll still be within the topic of the broader search, and a few others so my returns should be good. With a few SEO tweaks and refinements, I could be on page 1 of the search results instead of page 500!

So, now you know it is possible to start a business on a shoestring. All you need is a little knowledge, and a few good tips and you’re on your way.

Here’s to your success!!!

Watch Your Words...They Empower Your Life

Our words have power and using the right ones can move you forward, create obstacles or hold you back.

I was reading a comment from a member of one of my LinkedIn groups who eliminated the auto-response word 'sorry' from her vocabulary and it reminded me of some of the vocabulary adjustments I've made that have made a significant difference in my life.

The first one was the word ‘anxious’. This was several years ago. I wrote a writer friend to express my feelings about having my book published and I said I was ‘anxious’ to get it done. She quickly corrected me and said ‘try using the word ‘eager’ instead of ‘anxious’. It carries a much more positive energy.

The next word swap came from my former Religious Science minister Rev David Phears. We were talking about some experiences I was having after my ex-husband passed. He asked how I was doing and I said, ‘Oh, I’m surviving!’ Immediately he said, ‘Let’s change that word ‘surviving’ to ‘thriving’. It’ll help shift your energy and move you towards healing and perfect health faster.’

He was right! The shift was almost immediate. Even if you're not feeling that powerful in that moment, saying you're thriving empowers and uplifts you, while saying you're surviving depletes your energy and makes you feel helpless or hopeless.

I also replaced 'I'll try or I'm trying' with 'I intend to or I'm intending to'. Trying sends the energy into the future which is uncertain, while 'intend' brings it into the present and sets your intention to succeed.

And, I switched the word 'should' with 'I am going to, or I will...'. This one's a little trickier because it's a subtler transfer of your energy to sometime or somewhere else; it infers 'a maybe...uncertainty'. It allows you an 'out' or an option not to do something.

Most recently, I’ve started using 'I think' instead of 'I believe' because it doesn't make people feel like I'm imposing my views on them or give them the feeling that their opinions should be changed in some way. Saying you 'think' something is sometimes perceived as an attempt convince or change another person's point of view or mindset.

And, even if you are suggesting a change, saying you 'believe' says it's your belief and that it's ok if they don't agree with your belief. I found it to be a softer approach and there's usually less resistance, and it seems to encourage discussion. But, I’m still consciously adjusting with this one, so it’s still a work in progress.

So...what words have you changed to empower the language you use?

It's Official...The APA Agrees That EFT Really Works!

Oh, Happy Day!! EFT (aka Tapping) has just announced this incredible energy healing modality has met the standards of the American Psychological Association (APA) giving EFT the recognition as an evidence-based treatment for several psychological conditions including PTSD! This is a major step in establishing the credibility of this special technique.

'Break out the Champagne! EFT Meets APA Standards: A historic moment has arrived, that marks the fruition of an enormous amount of work and persistence by many, many people. This week we changed the EFT Research page to read as follows: "The current status of EFT as an "evidence-based" practice is summarized in this statement in the APA (American Psychological Association) journal Review of General Psychology: 'A literature search identified 50 peer-reviewed papers that report or investigate clinical outcomes following the tapping of acupuncture points to address psychological issues. The 17 randomized controlled trials in this sample were critically evaluated for design quality, leading to the conclusion that they consistently demonstrated strong effect sizes and other statistical results that far exceed chance after relatively few treatment sessions. Criteria for evidence-based treatments proposed by Division 12 of the American Psychological Association were also applied and found to be met for a number of conditions, including PTSD.' (Feinstein, in press)" This is sober academic language for a seismic shift in the geography of healing. For the past five years, we've worked incredibly hard, through unbelievable obstacles, to complete the research required to meet APA Division 12 standards. This milestone, published in an APA journal, marks a tipping point in EFTs credibility. You can now confidently present your EFT Universe certification in Clinical EFT as training in an "evidence-based" practice.'

As an EFT Practitioner, I'm delighted to have been apart of this wonderful healing practice while it went through its growth and validation processes over the last few years.

If you have a healing issue and you'd like to explore EFT as a possible solution, please contact me at: thewomanexec@gmail.com . I'd be delighted to become your practioner.

It Is Beautiful!

Dreaming my ideal and perfect life, it’s one I’ve envisioned for a lifetime. I see beautiful surroundings filled with peace, love, light, joy, prosperity, harmony, freedom, perfect health, balance, order and understanding. I see that I belong where I am, with those I am with; and always at home in my own body.

I feel accepted and cherished by those I love, as I cherish and love them in return. I am surrounded and infused by the light and love that permeates and emanates from everything, everywhere.

I see brilliant, vibrant, beautiful colors that seem to make their own music; they sing their own song! The air is clean, fresh, fragrant and warm; yet it is cool and soft. All around me there are the soft harmonies of living music that flows from Life itself.

I am the perfect, loving compassionate, companion; and I am enjoying life with the perfect, loving, compassionate companion for me. We give to and receive from each other all that we need and desire. I am peaceful, serene and content. I am joyful and tranquil; energetic and vital. I am full of life, love and light. I am complete.

I am happy and free. I am filled with power and intention. I am divinely guided in all that I say and do. Beauty and joy are all I know. I sing a song of my own creation; a song I write from moment to moment, as it is a song that is written by the beat of my heart, as it sings with joy and love.

Beautiful flowers are all around me, growing everywhere as far as the eye can see. They dance with delight at every sound. The trees and plants sway in gentle breezes of moist, warm-cool air. The sweet air nourishes everything as it passes in, around and through all of creation; for it is the gentle, sweet Breath of God; the Breath of Life itself.

I rise to celebrate each and every day with joy, thanksgiving and love as I truly appreciate the blessings each day brings. With so much love and light all around me, I am wonderfully and completely blessed and content.

Each day is Life’s gift to me. My appreciation, joy and love are my gifts to Life. I rise, I rejoice and I live!!!

And so it is…

Unconditional Love! A Earthly vs Spiritual Perspective!

Unconditional Love is not an emotion or a belief but a wordless revelation of universal truth. It is inexpressibly tender, beautiful, holy and nourishing. Shrillness, rudeness, confusion and anger will devour it. Without this love the heart is frozen and life is cold, bleak and pathetic in comparison. With this love life becomes refreshed and reborn never to die again. John E. Lewis Jr., May, 2012

John Lewis, a ministerial colleague, posted this statement on an alumni group site I belong to. It initiated some lively discussion of opinions, experiences and perpectives that were very inspiring and enlightening.

So much so, that I was moved to share some of my comments with you today.

Some of the members were commenting on whether or not Unconditional Love was possible for humans, based on where we are now in terms of our current levels of spirituality, limited awareness and evolutionary status.

Some said, they didn’t feel they could really express Unconditional Love to others who were not members of their circle of loved ones because it required a certain level of acceptance that they couldn’t extend to those who weren’t loved ones.

At last count, there were over 75 comments; and the perspectives covered the spectrum from traditional to the esoteric; from the general to the personal. Here’s what I offered for their, and your consideration:
I just wonder if the differences we see in what we call 'Unconditional Love' may be in our understanding of what love is...and confused with what we define 'love' to be. In my very humble opinion, I think they’re two different things.

Perhaps part of the problem is that we confuse the meanings of 'love' and 'Love'. One is physical, and one is spiritual.

In terms of Spirit, and our expressions of it, I believe 'Unconditional Love' is possible and that we embrace/express it…we are it.

But, in the terms of 'love' on the physical plane, we can't be unconditional because it requires some emotional attachment, interpretation or connection. In my opinion, Unconditional Love is in the same category as forgiveness…maybe they’re two sides of the same coin. Unconditional Love is expressing Spirit; it’s ‘without attachment’, while love is expressing emotion and ‘infers attachment’.

It's something you do or give without attachment to the outcome, circumstances or situation. It's merely your allowance for the outcome, circumstance or situation to 'be', whatever form that ‘being’ shows up.

You love someone that's special to you...there's a feeling and an expectation attached to it. But, Unconditional Love can be given to someone you don't know at all, and yet you support them in their life process and experience. Like letting someone be as dysfunctional as they want to be without trying to ‘fix’ them. You may choose to distance yourself from the situation temporarily or permanently. You simply bless them and their situation and allow it to be…detached from the drama and emotion.

For instance, I had a BIG opportunity to express Unconditional Love when it came to dealing with the man who murdered my son. I had the option to hate him, give him power over my life and live with that rage forever. But, I decided early on that he’d already exerted enough power and influence over my life and I was going to put a stop to it immediately, detach from it and live the happy life I had before he made the decision to kill my son.

I didn’t know his story. I didn’t know what events and experiences drove him to become such a violent, dangerous person. I didn’t know him before I saw him in court during those trials. And while I hated what he’d done. I didn’t want to be energetically connected to him any longer than I had to.

I realized that this was my A-ha life lesson about Unconditional Love. Through that experience, I could learn the lesson and live, or avoid the lesson and spend the rest of my life in resistance and pain. In that moment, Unconditional Llove meant loving myself enough to keep living, and allowing him to live his own life, detached from mine. After all, he was a child of Spirit too, whether I liked it our not.

I didn’t know what happened to make him the way he was; I didn’t know why he chose to kill my son. I didn’t know what events or agreements may have taken place on the spiritual plane between him and my son before they came into physical life that set the wheels in motion to bring them together at that point in time.

But, I had to deal with it. I know we all make agreements and plans before we incarnate to ensure we have the experiences we come here to have and serve our life's purpose. Sometimes the manifestation of those agreements looks and/or feels ‘bad’ when we experience them in this space and time. But, who am I to judge their real meanings…I’m only dealing with partial information.

When Spirit says we shouldn’t judge or try to control people and situations, I think that’s the reason why; and that’s also why and when we’re supposed to practice Unconditional Love.

Unconditional Love is not the same love we have for those we ‘love’, but a spiritual practice of allowing each spirit to live and express its life as is appropriate for their path and life's purpose.♥

Much Love and Light to You!

Feel the Fear, Then Clear It With Tapping!

‘Feel the Fear, Then Do It Anyway!’ Ever heard that expression? I’m sure you have. It’s what our parents, bosses and mentors tell us to do when we’re trying to do something new, like striving to achieve a dream or goal. They say, just grit your teeth and go for it.

And, it’s a good strategy unless you’re talking about the real fear that comes from the threat of danger. That’s part of our survival instinct. It helps us stay alive.

But, we’re not talking about fight or flight fear responses now. We’re talking about the fear that comes from our psyche when we’re faced with doing something we’ve never done before, or something that makes us uncomfortable like stage fright, jumping into water, asking your boss for a raise or cold-calling clients. And to make the separation clear I’m going to call this the ‘Crazy Fear’…because in many ways it is crazy. It’s an irrational reaction to a lot of made up ‘stuff’ that can’t hurt us and for the most part, isn’t even real.

Now, there are times when just powering through a situation works just fine. But, there are other times, when just powering through it isn’t enough. When it’s a behavior, or task that you have to do regularly, powering through it can have the opposite effect. It can actually make you more resistant to taking action; sometimes to the point of just not doing it at all. It’s exhausting, and it takes a lot of energy to maintain that kind of persistence for long periods of time.

For some of us, these fears can be terrifying, to the point of paralysis. They block our success; and prevent us from living life to the fullest. Sometimes, they block us from simply living. But the truth is, they’re completely imaginary; they are figments of our own imaginations. Yet, they hold us back and keep us from fulfilling our dreams and desires and living our best life.

So, let’s take a look at FEAR! What is it really? One way of describing it is that it’s simply ‘False Evidence Appearing Real’…so real that it binds us mentally and in some ways physically. In some people, the physical symptom can be dramatic, ranging from dizziness and sweating to vomiting and muscle paralysis.

A good example is public speaking. It’s a known fact that most people would rather die than speak before an audience. Now that’s about as dramatic as it gets. But, it also illustrates how irrational it is. Death means the end of your lifetime on the planet. While giving a speech only lasts a few minutes, and you can go on with your life afterwards.

How ‘crazy’ is that? Now, I have a confession to make…I have a crazy fear of my own. I’m a singer. I’ve performed before audiences many times, as a soloist, a member of a choir and 6 member group…and I absolutely love it. I also love public speaking. Give me a microphone and I can talk for hours.

My ‘crazy fear’ is cold-calling clients. Like a lot of other people, calling strangers to solicit them for business is terrifying. Why? I haven’t the slightest idea. While some people seem to like it, most people hate it. Still they have to do it because it’s part of their job. Somehow, these brave souls find the where-with-all to work through their fear and do it anyway.

But I never found that inner resolve to power through this fear. For me, it’s almost impossible for me to make myself pick up the phone and call a client. I’d find all kinds of distractions so I could postpone making those phone calls. I’m not sure where it came from, or when it started. All I know is it was a real problem for me because I’m a real estate investor. I have to call my clients to make my money. It’s became a major hindrance to my success.

Funny huh? I can almost hear some of you saying, how can you be so at ease singing and speaking in public, and so terrified about making a few phone calls? Well, that’s why I call it the ‘crazy fear’…it doesn’t make sense. It’s a totally irrational behavior. Yet, it’s very real and must be dealt with if we are to move forward, realize our potential and enjoy the success and joy we all aspire to and desire.

I remember a time when I used to love talking on the phone; calling people was not an issue. But somewhere along the line, things shifted. I’ve come to a place where I’d rather do almost anything else but pick up the phone and call a client. I’ve struggled greatly for the last few years to find a way to make a breakthrough. And, finally I did!

In my efforts to understand, clear and work through my crazy fear, I started examining my past to try and identify the event that set the fear response in motion. When did this start? What changed me? How did I build up such a strong resistance to phone calling? And, then there was the bigger question: How was I going to clear it so I could get my business back on track and be successful. It really had become the ‘single’ most critical obstacle to my success.

But, try as I might, I couldn’t remember anything specific to link to my fear. So, instead of working on the event, I decided to focus on the responses. I realized that whatever the ‘event or events’ were, it was the responses…the energetic feelings I was experiencing now that were the show stoppers. So, I decided to concentrate my efforts on dealing with that energy, instead.

Now, this isn’t the usual approach to dealing with a phobia. Traditional practice is to identify the trauma, dig deep into the event, and then attempt to heal it. But, since that wasn’t possible for me to remember the event, I needed an alternative approach. That alternative turned out to be an energy healing modality. One day I got an email about something called EFT, and it literally changed my life.

It simply said…’everything is energy’! And, that was my A-ha moment! Suddenly, I realized that it didn’t matter what the cause was. I could simply work with the energy responses and through them, heal the cause. This was the turning point!

So, what was this thing called ‘EFT’? I knew about Reiki healing, I’d studied it and received my Masters certifications. But, this was something new. EFT, was an energy healing technique called the ‘Emotional Freedom Technique, (more recently called ‘Tapping’).

You may not have heard about it either, and it really isn’t new. EFT or Tapping was developed several decades ago as a way to give people relief from intense emotional problems such as depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, guilt, anger, grief, and many other emotional and physical issues and conditions.

It’s based on the practice of manipulating the energy centers located in certain places in the body to redirect and stimulate the body’s energy, which allows us to let go of the negative imprints, resulting in healing. Unlike its cousin Acupuncture, no needles or other instruments are used. Instead, EFT or Tapping employs the simple act of tapping on certain energy meridians to release, and/or redirect the energy flow in our body’s energy system. That’s why we call it ‘Tapping’. And, the results can be quite dramatic!

It’s a highly effective process. It can give a person relief from emotional trauma and discomfort in mere minutes. The process includes making simple supportive and affirmative statements to focus attention on the issue while tapping on the energy meridians. By doing this, we re-frame and/or eliminate the negative affect of the memory and the event.

After setting our intention by stating the condition or behavior, we use a tapping sequence on the energy meridians while making other descriptive or affirmative statements, and breathing. The breath is a very important component of clearing energy, so we do it before and after a series of rounds.

Most sessions consist of several rounds to clear and remove the energy blockages. The technique is painless, yet very powerful. There’s no disrobing, and it can be done anywhere, in person, by phone, or via the internet.

Sounds simple doesn’t it…well it is…simple, yet incredibly effective. How to Start A Business Without Losing Your Mind In 12 Easy Steps!

5 Steps to Discovering Your Dream Career or Business

1. Create a Dream Inventory

Make a list of the things you really enjoy doing. Do it over several days so you have time to give it some thought. First, list everything that comes to mind. This will get the ideas flowing. When something really interests you, add it to your list. Try to write down at least 10 items, the more the better. Once you have the list, review it.

Note the items that stir you emotionally, especially if they’re potentially money-making ideas (i.e. writing, opening a store or business, photography, etc). Next, rate them by your level of interest and do-ability. For instance, if it’s your heart’s desire and you have money and/or the resources to fund your project, make it a 10. You can have multiple 10s. If it interests you, but you may need training, maybe it should be a 6, 7 or 8. Eliminate any idea that rates less than a 6.

2. Research Your Choices

Talk to people who are already doing what you want to do. Get their input on market conditions, trends, specialties and any other information they may have to offer. Google it to see what the demand is for your idea, and to see what the latest techniques or ‘twists’ may be, (i.e. online greeting cards vs hardcopy cards).

Do market analyses to help you determine if your chosen field is in an upward or downward cycle. This may not be a show stopper, but it may mean you’ll need a larger financial base to support you. Or perhaps postpone starting it until the cycle changes.

Use Google AdWords Keyword Tool to see if people are really looking for your topic online. This could be a clue to your idea's marketability.

3. Create a Treasure Map or Book

Look at magazines or print pictures from websites of things related to what you want to do and make a scrapbook. If it’s music, cut out pictures of the instruments you want to play or singers in performance. Go to karaoke lounges and have someone take pictures of you singing.

Get a 3-ring binder and some plastic slip covers or poster board. Arrange the pictures in a way that’s meaningful to you, (by date, significance, or category). Put them in the slip covers or glue them to the poster board. Look at them frequently and let yourself dream. See yourself ‘doing’ what you’re dreaming about. It’ll stimulate your senses and your creative talents will come alive.

4. Narrow Your Choices to 1 or 2 Dreams

This could happen within weeks or months, or only days. Once you start ‘dreaming’ about your new career, you’ll find yourself drawn to 1or 2 subjects more often than all of the others. They’re the ones that you’re being spiritually guided to follow. Follow your intuition; it’s the voice of your heart. These ideas will be your best options for making a living, while doing what you love.

5. Make a Plan

Once you’ve narrowed your choices to 1or 2 options, you can start planning. You can have more than one choice at this point. The activities that follow will facilitate a natural selection based on your continued research and discovery.

I started out planning to open a restaurant, but once I found out how much time, training, money and risk were involved, I chose to do something else. This could happen for you too.

But don’t worry…if one opportunity doesn’t work out, another will. And if both look good and are related in some way, you can always flip a coin…or do both. I did!
